Thanks my friends,
Padouk is one of my favorites. Stiff and ringy, but a bit brittle.
Competative to BRW, but no one wants a red guitar. Too bad.

Herman, a can of Rustoleum is only a few bucks, and you could pick the most pleasing color that your customer would like. Problem solved.
There might be a problem if customer wanted, say a Mauve or a Taupe. But your Lime Greens, your Cherry Reds (oops), your patriotic Reds (oops) and Whites and Blues - hey , if it's a blues guitar, paint it.....Blue!!
You're welcome.

Herman: I've built 3 or 4 guitars with padauk back and sides. I like the color. If you don't, you're in luck -- because the color changes, significantly, with time. After a couple of years it will look a lot more like rosewood. Still attractive (to some, maybe more attractive), but not as dramatic.

Hans, thanks but I do appreciate the Padouk reds. So I leave it there.
Dave, I know you're a rainbow colored man, And I am a patriotic red one, but also, I leave the Padouk as it is.
