Link to a variety of methods

Here are some thought-provokers and methods - I've tried a number of these on scrap that worked very well. If you are pretty new to this, find a method you like and then, before you try it, post a question on this Forum to see if anyone has had success/failure with it. Good luck.

I have been using Danish Oil followed by MinWax Wipe on Poly on my necks for the last few. No pore filling. I really like the look, feel and ease of application but I wouldn't use that combo on the body because the Danish Oil is a penetrating oil.
I am considering an oil varnish for future finishes but I need to test it first.
