What method do you use to position the bridge/saddle?
Is this worth it:
Is this something you would use?

Re: Is this something you would use?
If I had one and I was not doing nut compensation, I would use it. I believe, it is set to the 12 fret and turning it around it gives the correct compensation for the saddle in the high E position. Works on any scale length with no need to measure then double then remember what compensation your using.

I use a similar tool I got from John Hall back in 2006. It indexes off the nut and fits in the saddle slot. It's a lot more comfortable to use than trying to count those little bitty lines on the rule with my old eyes. I've done a couple of runs of three to five guitars at a time and it sure seemed to speed up the bridge setting process. Compensation still has to be calculated when setting the tool up but needs to be done anyway.
Stay cool and safe today, Dave. It's already 102 deg here.

No, not for me,
I measure twice , three times. put tape to the right position and glue the thing.
If you make 20 guitars a day, it could be useful. Me building 2 a year, a ruler will do.
Dave, come over, here it is sunny and 68 degree.

I use that exact tool. I would be pretty lost without it. You cannot spend the time and money to build a guitar and have it play out of tune! You could probably build your own as it is a simple design but you have to figure in what your time is worth.
