Michael and I started his build a month ago or so, and it is going well. Herewith some pictures, out of order because I'm lazy. I'll try to be more orderly as we make progress.
Mike has good focus and attention, learns quickly and is smart. In other words, he and I are opposites! Haha - not really. But he is the best informed of all the 'students' I have had so far. We're having a good time.

The progress looks great. When I view the posts I need to click into the image as it is not automatically displayed. I will need to track that down.
aha - your pictures were big! I changed the sites settings to allow it. You can decide what size you like. I go for setting the width at 800 and let the length follow.

Beautiful abalone rosette, and very nice BRW. Where did you get it?

Cocobolo, not BRW. Wish I had a stash of BRW though I guess it's hard to work.

I posted on another thread the fact that the braced top 'potato chipped' on us. Don't know why, but I was determined to salvage it, so removed the tone bars with plane, chisel, sandpaper completely, and made a lower transverse brace a la Larrivee. Seems to have worked well, re-formed the dome and taps quite nicely. Fingers crossed. We did add a sound port as well.

Looks good. Get it on the rims before it sets too long.
