Build six wenge 00-12 fret
This is my second build from scratch. Wenge back and sides, carpathian spruce top. I love the color on wenge. It has a very vibrant tap tone. I think it will pair well with the carpathian. I hope vampires don't show up. Walnut neck block because I have a pile of it. The cocobola rosette was bent from a scrap. It is giving me fits, trying to stain the spruce. I may re sand and go straight to spray lacquer rather than rub shellac.

That guitar sure looks promising! I have not tried a walnut neck but am intrigued.

Well Kenny, It looks you're on the right path. A walnut neck is a dream to work on. It is easy to work on and under a finish it just shines. With a little luck you will be fine.
FWIW: I am working on a hard-rock maple neck, and it is a pita.

Just the neck block is walnut. I may try a walnut neck though. I have a bunch left from an island top build. Maybe a laminate with a maple strip down the middle.

Re: Build six wenge 00-12 fret
I am trying binding tape for side support on this one rather than wood strips. It is my understanding that wenge splits easily. I runs beneath the kerfing. I am open to better ways.
Also obligatory go bar deck pic. I finally reinforced the deck top with angle iron. I also bought some 1"x1/4" pine from Lowes for some wood bars. Found some almost quarter sawn. I like how it feels. I was using driveway marker rods but they are pretty stiff.

I never used binding tape before but I have opened martins with the tape. You are correct in running it under the linings. Many cracks happen right at the linings.

Re: Build six wenge 00-12 fret
This is the first build fer me using radius dish for glueing and sanding. It make for very clean joints.
Neck construction is a scarf joint. I have been tempted to buy a jointer/ planer but I am not sure how much I would use it. There is a romance in making curly shavings with a very old tool.
Third pic shows some of the rosette staining I have been fighting. It is either cocobolo or CA glue. Sanding just makes it messier. I have scraped it and sprayed lacquer on it. It is what it is.
