I made a big ASSumption. I ordered a rosette without reading the specs closely enough. It arrived with the correct 180 mm i.d. and correct 130 mm o.d., but the dang thing is only .075 mm thick.
It's like a thick piece of paper.
Is it usable at all?
Will this rosette even work?

Re: Will this rosette even work?
Might consider laminating the rosette to some veneer first (maple's plenty cheap on Ebay) and then installing it ever-so-slightly below the surrounding soundboard. There won't be room to sand to level if it winds up high.. Veneer's usually about 1/40" thick. If the pattern speaks to you, maybe get another one and double them up with the veneer at the bottom of the stack? And use epoxy. Wood that thin will go nuts when the water in Titebond gets on it.

Thanks fellers.
By the way the vendor was BruceWei Guitars, a Vietnamese company I located on Etsy.

Peter, I gave it a try and had it been a halfway decent rosette shell I think your procedure would have worked. Alas, this was pure crapola.
So now I'm out the $25 and need to get another rosette. Recommendations for best prices?

Just got a rosette from a U.S. source who advertises on Ebay, 'eduke.ws'. It arrived in one piece, saying something. I've bought rosettes out of China and they arrived broken in half more often than not.
