Since I got my bandsaw I have not used my table saw. Mine is also a portable, so it is a hasle for me to pull it out and use. The bandsaw is just sitting waiting to be used. Before the bandsaw, I used it to cut veneers for bindings, slots in a classical neck and braces. I also used it to rip plywood into usable sheets.
I use a very good thin kerfed blade.
For all of those uses I am sure the saw you are looking at will work great.

Over time I have also become afraid of a circular saw.

I won't use a circular saw, period. Bad experience.
