Brian Burns Online Instruction

Post by Dave Bagwill » Thu Jan 10, 2019 12:56 pm

I'll just post his advertisement here:

Hello Dave,

Here is my announcement of my teaching online:
For the last fourteen years I have been teaching guitar making here in my shop in Fort Bragg California. Last year a friend upgraded to the latest model Apple iPad, and passed on his iPad 2 to me, saying “It will change your life”. To my surprise it has! I have been teaching guitar making using the iPad and online video for the last year, and it has been working surprisingly well.
The very best thing is for you to study with me one-on-one here in my shop, with access to all my tools, jigs and fixtures. That involves quite a commitment of time and money. The next best thing is for us to get together online, which is a lot less expensive, and can be timed to fit your schedule.
I charge $50 an hour, with a one hour minimum. I’m available weekdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 until 12:00. We can meet as often or as seldom as you like. If you let me know in advance what you would like to learn about, I can prepare for show and tell. It’s possible to record a session for later reference, and I can supply you with .pdf notes with photos, as well as .pdf’s of my guitar plans.
I’ve been using Apple’s FaceTime software as well as Zoom, both of which are free. There are several other video calling possibilities. The iPad is ideally suited to the purpose, though I’m sure that there is other hardware that will work.
If you’re interested, give me a call at my shop, or answer this email:

I can vouch for Brian's expertise and lucidity when presenting same. He is grounded in facts, not myth. But he is also involved in theory based on scientific experiments, of which he has conducted many.
