Acoustic Guitar Construction

I've built 5 guitars now and am resuming work on 3 more. My necks have always come out perfectly flat. Upon reading and studying I'm seeing recommendations on building in some up-bow for players that like relief. The up-bow can be taken out with the truss rod, but a truss rod can't add it. What are your thoughts?

I use the 2 way double action truss rod from LMI. Then I dial in the relief I want. I generally leave the truss rod in neutral as the string tension provide just enough relief for me. I do not measure I just want some relief but not two much.

I try to make my necks as flat as possible. Most of the times the string tension give some relief that is just right. The rod needs most of the time no tension ( only just to avoid a rattle), or maybe a 30 degree turn.
My advise is to keep 'm flat in the first place if you use a two way rod.

I always use a double action truss rod but attempt to get my neck as flat as possible. The closer/more accurately you can come to leveling the frets to dead flat the closer you can come to achieving 0.0" of relief.
