A few new tools in my shop.

I have recently started to use a couple of tools that have really helped. I bought both of the following tools on a whim but they worked out.

The first is stewmacs Safe Slot Nut Guard. This tool took a bunch of the clumsiness out of measuring, marking and cutting the slots. Depending what you slid in the slot you can mark the height and contour of the nut, mark the string spacing and provide a safe way to cut the slots to an exact height above the fret board. On my first try I ended up making a nut and having to do no adjustment after stringing up the guitar.

The other tool is a set of thickness blocks with magnets for setting up a bandsaw fence. I use a magfence and have struggled to get it properly aligned. So I bought these and was amazed at how easy it was to set up a cut. They are basically blocks with magnets so they align to the blade not the table. Probably best to view the description on the Carter site. fast fence alignment system tool

Nice John, I have been particularly interested in the nut slotting setup tools for quite a while now but just never took the plunge.
