Any jigsaw recommendations?

The one I had, that I paid $13 for at a disreputable outlet 10 years ago has died. RIP.
It was a terrible jigsaw.
Now - any recommendations for a good one? Doesn't need to be overkill - just for stuff we do - 3/4" ply/ MDF, etc. And quiet as possible.
And corded is fine.

You mean a handheld saber saw or a bench tool scroll saw on a base?

A lot of it is feel (balance, etc), especially with a jig-saw, at least in my experience. I like DeWalt, mine is cordless but they make a corded version. Like you all mentioned, after years of struggling with a cheap junker most anything is always an improvement.
I do think variable speed, regardless of brand, is worth the extra cost.
