Notched straightedge

Post by Dave Bagwill » Fri Aug 25, 2017 1:26 pm

When I first started out, and dinosaurs were walking the earth, I bought an acrylic straightedge from LMII, cheap but functional. I"ve since replaced it with something more expensive but functional. :-)

In any case, if you have the KMG templates for fret layout, or the equivalent, and some acrylic (I'm repurposing that old LMII piece), it's a snap to make a notched straightedge with a two different scales. I used the KMG templates to mark the acrylic with a magic marker and then just chucked up the Dremel with something appropriate. Use a dust mask!
