Acoustic Guitar Construction

First post for me, I'm glad to be able to ask and possibly contribute here.

I have some very nice back and side sets that I've acquired and wanted to ask about sealing the end grain to prevent splitting. What is the preferred product to do that? I have some Anchor 2 but it has the possibility of staining my sets. What do you use?

My apologies if I posted this in the wrong section. I couldn't seem to determine a better one. Admins, please move this thread to a more suitable section if needed.

Any wax or paraffine will do. If you plan to use it soon, no end sealing is needed. Be sure the wood is dried properly.

Thank you for your reply. I do plan to use them within the next couple of months. The pieces have come from Spain and Indonesia to the dry desert of the U.S. I pray they don't crack as they are beautiful pieces of wood.

It couldn't hurt to put a little wax on them. Just rub some on and heat it just enough to melt the wax so it seals. I've done it in the past on some wood that I thought was not quite as dry as it should be just to add some insurance.
