The good news for me is that I'll be able to fulfill my long range plan and go into retirement at age 72 which will occur this year. Interestingly this will free up my time to pursue my hobbies model airplanes and "Luthiery" I have countless projects waiting to be completed and others still in my head.

As you all know KMG is a long standing established brand known around the world for their high quality reasonably priced products. We currently run the operation at about 25% capacity and in fact I personally only work about 20 hours a week. As one might expect the earning potential for a buyer or buyers is limitless while at the same time the nature of the operation leaves time (CNC machnies are doing most of the work) for those wanting to build and sell there own creations.

If I had the xtra money and the timing was right I would buy KMG. Maybe with 1or 2 individuals with the same interests. That would be my retirement in about 5 years. Any thoughts?.

KMG certainly has the potential to provide a good living for several owner/ partners. To look at it as a retirement hobby business is extremely flawed and a waste of KMG's reputation in the world market, not to mention our overall internet presence. Serious buyers really need to make the effort to fill out the required non-disclosure form and go over the financials with an adviser. Also first time business owners need to read up or get advice on the tax advantages spelled out in the code, the effects of depreciation alone on taxable income may surprise you.
