The artist - Tami - who bought the first Ditson from me and is doing something to the top as a memorial to her dad - she is working on that now - also picked up a kmg 000c (walnut/spruce) and did what you will see in the pic. I will get the instrument tomorrow and do the finish work and set up, etc.
This is not for the purist, but Tami and I decided to try this and people love it. When I am done with it we will sell it and divvy up the proceeds in some manner. Hopefully.

WARNING: not for the purist!!!

Acrylic, very lightly painted on. Will it affect tone? No doubt. But I don't think it will affect it much.

Well obviously, with all that thick paint on the soundboard, while the guitar might look nice, it's going to sound like doo-doo! Just kidding! It probably won't make any difference at all. What is it, like 5 grams of paint?

I think it looks absolutely gorgeous and doubt the gram or two of paint will affect the tone one bit.

Dave,
That's real classy. It is nice to have a creative individual with which to collaborate.
I'm sure it will play as well as it looks.
