Bandsaw blade recommendation

Post by johnnyg » Fri Jan 06, 2017 1:13 pm

Hello all,

If this has been covered, I haven't found it so far. Its time to replace the blade on my bandsaw. Is there a recommendation for blade size, type, TPI, or anything else? Its a Craftsman 10" saw. I don't do any resawing on this. The most I ask it to do is cut out neck blanks, so no more than 3 to 4 inches thick. Mostly it does much lighter cuts like tops and backs.

Any info is very much appreciated!

I have a 10" Delta that I use only for scroll work and always use Olsen 1/8" 6tpi. I like the Olsen for it's flexibility and smooth cut (you need a flexible blade for small pulleys).

Thanks for the advice. Tuff Saws seems to be not available in the U.S. i will check out the Olsen. I will try the 8 TPI but probably a little wider since I need to do more than scroll work.
