I like it....very quick and easy to apply. I have seen similar clamps using "C" shaped secions of PVC pipe. Haven't tried it personally, but have seen it.

I use the 'c' shaped slices of pvc for clamps, but not for this purpose. I've really found the rubber bands to be quick and easy.
I wonder what material they are using for the clamps?

I have been using this clamping caul with screws. It works great, but you have to put stop blocks on the inside of the mold for the rim to set against while the screws apply pressure.

I agree with Kevin the full clamping caul is very effective -- its the assemble system we include with our "Success Kit Packages"

As a Success Kit owner I agree that the full clamping caul is great.
