Acoustic Guitar Construction

I'm getting very interested in this tonewood. Does anyone know if it stains easily? How are the pores compared to red oak?

Very similar to Red Oak -- smells bad when cutting, 1/4 sawn more readily available.

Dave, what do you like about white oak? The look, the feel, the sound, the ease of working? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The kmg red oak guitar has developed into a very good-sounding guitar. White oak has made some excellent instruments as well and in fact some top makers are using it. Tonally, it can be excellent; visually, it can look great or it can look like furniture unless you take steps to really dress it up. And as Ken said, 1/4 sawn is much more easily available.
Mainly it is the sound.
