Better in wood or shell?

The pattern beneath the bridge - this is from an 1837 Martin - I would like to add that little touch, since I make my bridges like that one for certain guitars.
I do not yet have the skill to make that, or the time right now to learn it - who do you think would be able to make a few of those for me?

Would look good in either material. Are you wanting to reproduce the "line" around everything, or just use the outline?

I'm thinking just wood, solid, the outline only. I'd pick something contrasty.
