Number 2 - A KMG kit that came with a lot less anxiety...

I finished my second guitar a week ago. The cutback in stress during this second build made it an outright joy. And I’m pleased with the improved results too. Being a finger picker, I went with a 12 fret 00. My photos can’t capture all of the very nice figuring found in the walnut sides and back and the Sitka spruce top. I made the rope purfling and chevron back strip from walnut and holly while waiting for the KMG kit. By the time it arrived, I’d changed my mind (a personal issue) and wished I’d ordered a deep body(if available). My solution was to make mahogany reverse kerfing and install it proud, ending up with 4 5/8” body. Also modified the KMG rosette with abalone. The neck was KMG prebuilt too. I’m most pleased with nailing the intonation on this one as well as the ‘across the board’ clarity of this little cowboy guitar.

Yikes only your second! its gorgeous. Amazing woodwork on the end wedge and the rosette is really nice with that twist.

Very cool end wedge. Did you have a template to get the shape to match like that?

Tim, not quite sure of question's intent. My thinking/procedure went, I could build an upper and lower vase shape that wedges and the joint in the middle is covered by endpin. It did take a bit of fine filing to get each vase to fit reasonably tight, then trimmed ends to meet at endpoint location. I did use paper template for original shape.
