For me, the writer's version was best. It seemed to carry more expressive emotion in the picking and strum patterns than the other two. While not necessarily the fastest picking, I think that is what lent it to be more emotional. I noticed he used more up strokes when the others were using down strokes, that changes the sound.

I liked the Paul Simon version best, he took some of the repetition out. Davy Graham does a good job playing it as written but I found the original composition was on the boring side. I learned to play the original once; by the time I could play it I was really sick of it.
