I am the delighted new owner of this tool. Bought it when it was offered. Just used it last night/today. The video doesn't at all illuminate the comfort and security that comes with using this tool. Ken warns us to thoroughly familiarize ourselves before committing it to use. Absolutely agree. Took a half hour. Plus adjustment time. After that, using the tool was my training aid. Nothing I know of can substitute for the shape and contours of a real body running through the router.

This tool is so damned simple it must have taken real genius to design it. It's customer-proof. Any errors in use go in the direction of leaving material on the body that we wanted to take off. So make more passes with the tool. It's wonderfully repeatable. I'd been scared to death to cut my binding ledges, for months. Unwarranted anxiety.

Now to learn to install bindings.

I just came across this thread and want to reinforce Peter's comments. Of particular value is his noting that "any errors in use go in the direction of leaving material on the body that we wanted to take off. So make more passes with the tool." But I do have to take exception to his comment that "it's customer-proof." I'm a customer (bought mine new from KMG) and I found a way to screw it up (not too badly, but screwed up anyhow). Fortunately my errors could be (mostly) corrected by sanding and scraping after the binding was installed, but the beauty of the tool is that I now know what to avoid (and how to reliably avoid it) in future builds. A great tool.

I figured if I couldn't find a way to get a damaged guitar out of using the tool, it is indeed 'customer proof'. But I'm a jury of one. I sure can't claim to have thought of all the possibilities of doing something that didn't turn out so good.

Ok, you guys have sold me on the binding system... now I just have to find someone else who currently has one for sale, since Ken has taken a break from producing them!
