KMG OM/Tru Oil First Build Finished
I finally have a moment to set the new guitar down, due to sore fingers, to post a few pictures and give thanks to all of the posters on this forum. I read and often reread the posts throughout this forum and gleaned so much old hand information that helped me to successfully complete my first guitar. Thanks for sharing your skills and creative solutions.

One difference: While waiting for kit to arrive I did take a stab at making purfling and the zipper back-strip. For me a beginner, the thought of installing purfling with tape and Titebond was too daunting. I ended up using a violin makers method of pre-gluing the purfling sides with HHG, dry installing in rebates using rubber band (inner-tube strip). There was no time constraint due to glue setting up. When satisfied with fit, I used syringes to lay a bead of hot water along seams, setting the glue. It worked but I definitely need to improve the tolerances and consistency of the rebates next time.

Thanks again and I’ve already ordered number two.

It looks fantastic, nice clean lines and I really like the backstrip.

P.S. I like the TiteBond Extend for gluing purfling and bindngs, gives me a little more time to work before it starts to set up.

Well done! All look really good. Congrats.
My lovely wife gives me an extra hand glueing the purfing and binding.
We started that way at my first and still do it that way after 10 years. After a few, you'll get a routine at it.
Keep building.

Thanks for taking a look. I definitely could kick myself for somehow overlooking Titebond Extend. I could have used it on the whole guitar.(?) And with enlisting the wife's hands I'll attempt a go at the Titebond/tape method. Thanks for the tips!
