I like this guy, but yesterday he posted this, and the final scenes (at around 5:20) totally disrespect my pos bandsaw.
He does give a good hint about shim stock - hint: Canada Dry:-)

Half the tools, if you can even really call them tools, in my shop could use that Kind of treatment. I have had them for so long I have kind of grown attached to them though. So for now I will just keep fixin them up.... Although, those 17" Grizzlys sure look nice.

Just got the new Grizz catalog - that anniversary 17" is looking good, and priced pretty good as well. Maybe we should all make a group purchase and get a big discount? :-)

I have a 12" Craftsman purchased about 45 years ago. In the past 30 years it has been used almost every work day! All original except for "cool block" blade guides. I made one change, I built a shelf onto the stand to hold a bag of sand. This added weight virtually eliminated all vibration. A good idea for any light weight stationary tool/machine.

I bought mine used - very used - a few years ago. As long as I keep on top of the maintenance, it works just fine for what I do. I took a good bit of time to diagnose the blade drift - and it really does drift a lot - and then correct for it with a fence and shim; since then I've been able to resaw 5" wood, slowly, but it works.

Mine is the old fangled kind the little table tilts.

Unfortunately for me with all the other tools and shop building expenses right now, I am going to have to wait on the 17" grizzly. So yesterday I order some new tires and am thinking about some new guides.
