Tuesday this week at Michael Gurian’s Instrument Barge the Seattle Luthiers Group http://seattleluthiers.org/ held an auction, where the members brought in items to auction off. It is a great way to sell unwanted stuff and pick up others unwanted stuff. I really scored at the auction. Anyone is welcome to join the group.

Two Sapele sets one very quilted the other nicely figured (shown below), a Australian Blackwood set with OK figure and 2 large AAA Carpathian spruce tops with great ring tones. I got all of this at embarrassingly low prices.

I also picked up a few planes, that I probably did not need but the price was right.

I can't decide if its really good I didn't know about this, or a shame that I missed it.

Great finds.

Wow - congrats! Very nice wood, and the planes look great too. I think that's a No. 8 jointer on the right? I love using wooden planes too, after tuning up the iron. Even if you don't use it, they look great on a shelf as a tribute to craftsmen from yesteryear.
