Pricey, but worth it. I love mine. Since I've gotten it, I haven't used my card scrapers at all. No more filing and turning an edge. The Carruth edges last longer. I've redone the hollow grind a couple of times on my grinder.

I have one. I use it for select (heavier) jobs but still use my card scraper more often.

I have one, it is great on bindings and purflings. You need a grinding wheel to keep it sharp as recommended. I find it very hard to sharpen any other way. It does hold an edge for a long time.

If you have something like a Tormek (I fortunately do) you should not have any problems keeping them sharp. They are very solid feeling ... basically, a bit different, not really a total substitute for a card scraper. Both types are wonderful tools.

I use a tormek as well to sharpen mine as well.
