Actually, after looking at that box-type jig, it's fairly straight forward. In fact the process itself looks very doable even for someone at my level.

Not quite seeing how that 8* board works. Can someone elaborate please?

The sides of the beak are angled 8 degrees -- that block is used to tilt the neck blank for the band saw cut. Flipped end to end for the second cut. The raised piece is a key that fits into the truss rod slot to help keep the beak centered and symmetrical.

Ok, thanks, hard for me to visualize. I'll just have to go out to the shop and mock one up to see how it works.
