Found this on a German site:

The 20-year-old asked the subject addressed women charming for her phone number - one third of the women he had a guitar in the next 100 respondents there was nothing there and the last third of even a sports bag.

Guitars work wonders - especially in women

The result of the study is startling: As soon as the young testers had a guitar with him, 31 girls gave him her number, with nothing in their hands: 14 girls and 9 girls forgave her number when the subject was carrying a gym bag at all times.

In Israel, a similar experiment was according to the magazine "Letters on Evolutionary Behavioral Science” was done , where 100 students on Facebook by a young man - sometimes with and without guitar on the profile photo – got a friends request. The results are similar to those of the French study: 5 of 50 girls answered the friends request with the profile photo without guitar, 14 of the 50 girls confirmed the request of the "supposed" guitarist.

Whether one considers the studies for meaningful or not - one thing is certain: Guitarists apparently are atractive to women!

I have no trouble attracting women, even without the guitar - it's actually a little embarrassing, even my grade 'B' smile makes women a little nervous, and the 'A' smile, well, they start unbuttoning their blouses.....

But when I do carry a guitar, I always carry a jumbo, as it sends a certain subliminal message, I think. And I make sure the lady knows that I always have a guitar case with me, for safety's sake. It's all about the subtleties, gents.

Ok, I was gonna start riffing on that whole idea, but I have things to do this morning....
