anyone have any experience with the new LMII glue?

Using it right now, I don't see much difference between the white stuff, I like it.

A year since the last comment - how has the yellow glue worked for you Bob? Anyone here used it and can give us a review?
I suppose it stains the wood just like titebond if you're not careful.

How about that titebond translucent (or is it transparent?) - is it really clear?

I made three instruments with it (LMI glue). It glues well enough, but make sure your glue lines are tight as it really shows. I will not use it on bindings again. But would use it on bracing gluing on the top and back and the like.

The Trans is more clear than Titbond Original but not as clear as Elmer's. I contacted the techs at Franklin about comparative strength -- it is claimed to be stronger than the wood, but it does not rate as good as Original -- therefore I will not use it for joining tops or backs. Its handy around the shop, I like the grip rather than slip during tack up.

Dang. My post did not post, one of those at the exact same time deals again. I hate that.
I used the Translucent on my crossover. I liked it, but when I went to unglue the fretboard extension, plenty of heat and it did not want to release. When I finally did get it off, the glue looked dark like it had burned and it was hard, but it never did seem to soften up like the regular titebond does, or like the old LMI white glue did.

I used Elmer's brown Carpenters glue on an early instrument and it's holding up just fine. Any particular reason I should not use it?
