Anyone know of a reason that a pyramid bridge couldn't be used on a dred?

I can't think of any reason why not...

I see no real reason why not. Dreds are typically strung up with higher tension strings than the smaller 0 and 00 guitars with the pyramid bridges so from a design perspective going to the belly bridge gave a bit more gluing surface. But I have strung up 00 with high tension strings no problem.

The original Ditson "D" have a pyramid bridge I think the Martin D1 and D2 did as well.

I see that the Martin Ditson reissues, 111 and 333 also have pyramid bridges as well. That's what we include in the KMG Ditson kits too.

I'm building my KMG Ditson 12 fret with a pyramid bridge.
