I'm working on a collaboration with my brother-in-law. The guitar is a J-45 style dred with Adirondack top and Eastern Black Walnut b/s. My brother-in-law is an accomplished artist in Vermont (http://www.aksdalart.com) and is doing the art work on the body. It is a stand of Adirondack Spruce. Will be interesting to see if there is any market for it. He is showing the body as part of a "Featured Artist" exhibition from April 27th (today) until June at the Emile A. Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, Vermont.

That is really cool. Do you use a sealer to lock the colors in or can you just spray lacquer over the art work?

We did a test sample first. The first type of ink and color he used didn't work. Finally got his media right and I sprayed with lacquer sealer and lacquer with no problems. Hopefully all goes well when I get it back for finishing.

That is really neat. I like this kind of thing. I wish we saw more this type of custom work.
