bridge pin hole layout template

Elsewhere in this forum I asked about string spacing at the bridge, and I received very welcome insights, for which I am very thankful.

I thought I saw a template to lay out a whole array of bridge pin spacings for sale on That Auction Site and tonight I couldn't locate it. If someone knows of a vendor of such a tool, I'd love to get a heads-up. The tool I'm thinking of consisted of a plastic (?) sheet with a whole bunch of holes in it for an array of string spacings. Idea was, I think, to use a transfer punch to get the centers migrated to the bridge blank, and drill away.

Thanks!

For $22 you can get one at luthier suppliers. Or you have a caliber it is almost as easy to mark out the holes. Set the 2 E-strings for the spacing you want then set the caliber for 1/5 the distance between the E strings and use the caliber to walk hole position to hole position.

Success. Thanks very much. My memory was thoroughly bad. Their template is the one I thought I found on the auction site.

If you have the string spacing ruler from Stew Mac for laying out your string spacing on the nut, you can also use that to mark off the string spacing on the bridge. I have used it that way a couple of times. Or, like John said, use a caliper to measure off the spacing.
