Liqudation Artec Pickups

I am going the route of JJB (K&K clone) and likely will be offering these fantastic passive systems as an option with our KMG kits.

If interested in a very nice pickup (they do not get enough respect) I am getting rid of the few Artec's I still have in stock. My rub with these and it is minor is the battery holder, it really needs to be secured to the neck block, the recommended Velcro does not work well.

As a side bar -- the pre-amps in these packages have the impedance match recommended by JJB and K&K.

I have been putting the JJB Artist in and I find it to be wonderful. A near true reproduction of what the guitar sounds like.
And Jessie is most accomodating if you need something special.

Kevin - I see the Artist has a 230, 330, and 430 models - which one do you install?

The 330 model, 3 piezos, passive, no controls. Jessie is developing a sound hole volume/tone control unit and when He has that available, I will add that. I don't get the 430 because I don't want those knobs on the outside of the guitar.

I just installed the JJB Prestige 330 in my practice guitar that is close to being finished. Do you guys use a Pre amp with these? Thanks, Jack

It has enough output to be function OK without a pre-amp. However, one of my back burner projects is for an inline pre-amp that will work perfectly with the those pick-ups. Most likely I'll release it as a kit. In other words the pre-amp plugs into the guitar and the cord plugs into the pre-amp. Shadow offers such a device, well over a $100 not sure if it works with the low impedance JJB.
