My First Build

Hello everyone!

I am so happy to be on this forum! There's many things for me to learn here!

I just ordered my first kit form Kenneth Michael Guitars this morning!
(Ken is one cool, calm and collected dude)!

After many emails, I am ordering a D - 28 "ish" style. Sitka top, E.I. rosewood b&s, mahogany neck, and abalone ring for the sound hole! It will hopefully look pretty good, and sound like a guitar upon completion!

I've read some on finishing, and I think I will take the Tru Oil approach, as I liked Dave Bagwell's post on the subject.

Apologies for rambling.. I AM EXCITED!!!!

I remember when I ordered my first kit. It is an exciting time. I was so impatient for it to arrive. You are going to enjoy building your guitar Orison. Can't wait for the pics.

Everyone here will likely agree - read the KMG kit instructions front to back, several times. It eases the waiting time for your kit to arrive. More importantly it ingrains in you the step by step process.

Also, no matter how many times you read through the instructions before your first build, read them AS you build following each step closely. Its easy to think that you remember the order, only to find you skipped the smallest, yet critical step between two milestones. Take note of the objective for each step, there is always a defined goal, and a reason you are completing each step.

These are a blast to build, and this is a very supportive community in this forum/
