Polishing

Post by Jon Heimbruch » Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:34 am

Hi all. I have applied the last coat of Tru Oil. I applied a total of 12 coats. I am very pleased with the results. I am not looking for a high gloss finish but am wondering if I should polish it in some fashion now before I consider it done? I used 0000 synthetic steel wool between coats. The info for TO here on the forum is fantastic and inspired a great deal of confidence. I have no experience with the finishing process but the info here on the forum was invaluable. I am just not sure how to complete it. Do I even need to polish it? Thanks. Jon

Jon - there is no need at all to polish the finish. If it looks good to you - and TO does look good! - your work is done.
Congrats!!

Thanks Dave. It really turned out nice. I followed your technique very closely. The process was fun too. The project really starts to come to life during the application. I am a newbie and could ramble on but suffice to say that your video demonstration and your thorough description of how to apply TO worked out very well for me. Thanks again. Jon
