I'm personally concerned about the wax getting sticky in high humidity or during the summer heat...maybe not...but I would test it on scrap first with hot sweaty hands somehow...
Also...I wonder how deep the oil sinks in?.. would be pretty easy to find out with scrap and a cut I guess...
Interesting though...can't get a lot easier...but I lean toward Tru-oil witch isn't a true oil... more of a wiping varnish...but still...easy peasy to apply.
The only place I could find that had Masterpiece in stock had it marked up to $40... must be somewhere it's cheaper then that...?

I was 'impressed' with the comment that the top coat would need to be refreshed. If we're cranky about the softness of Deft lacquers, I think wax would be even more fragile.

I liked the box and the easy to read 1 2 3 labels. Other than that for a guitar I am not so sure...

I've never used wax on a guitar. I'll bet that it is a gorgeous finish but yeah, under a sweaty armpit it probably would not hold up.

I have used wax on furniture projects. The look is beautiful on cherry and it is thin. It is a soft finish, however. A mix of wax and oil strikes me as one with a lot of potential for getting much thicker than wax alone. In my imagination I am seeing something like a thick coat of lacquer that never dries beyond the first day.

For easy, non-toxic fill I would go the Brian Burns route. In fact, I will go the Brian Burns route on the next git I finish.

John, hate to show my ignorance as a "New-bee" but about the only thing I work well with any more is Tru-oil...I used to shoot lacquer back in the old days on cars...but that's way over for me...
what is the "Brian Burns route? " I tried to find a link or something to no avail..
