Do you have a fixture for holding your neck in place when removing material from the neck cheeks? Got a pic of how you do it?
Thanks.

No picture of mine but a parrot vise in the sidewise position is perfect. The cheeks will be pointing straight up and the neck secure. The parrot vise would need the rocking inserts to deal with the neck shape and to protect the neck.

I need one, I'm always hearing how good they are for a number of things. Thanks John!

I use my Parrot vise for that but I don't bother flipping it. I just secure between the rockers front and back. Here's another I saw a the Martin Factory on my tour there yesterday. She has just removed it from there.

Being used for other things right now -- but screw a couple pieces of wood to the jaws making an extension, sand a detent in one to fit the thumb side of the neck. Hope this makes sense.

Fretboard goes flat against the fixture back of fixture is a "back stop" for the chisel. They had clamps an cauls to a fix.
