You guys may have seen this one. Works good for saddle and bridges. I put a couple pieces of felt on the metal jaws to soften it up a bit.

Dave that's a pair of vise grips made for metal bending.

I got a parrot vise for Christmas two years ago and it is great for nuts and saddles. I used a mill bastard file to round all of the sharp corners on the vise just in case it happened to come in contact with a guitar at some point. Since I have only one bench, space is at a premium in my shop, and since I don't use the parrot vise often, I built a mount for the vise that clamps into my bench vise so I can remove the parrot vise when I don't need it.
Having said all of that, the sheet metal clamp seems to do the trick for minimal money and I wish I had thought of it!

My Parrot vise came from Grizzly and I bought the Tilting Jaws with it. I relieved the top corners of the jaws so I can get a better angle for filing nuts.

I'm prolly crazy but I never file nuts in a vise. I always fit and attach them to the guitar. Then I lay out the strings and file them. Hmm! Actually never thought of it before. Maybe next time.
