Acoustic Guitar Construction

So I finished this guitar, took a bunch of pics with my good camera and a back drop, just like I have done since #3, and now, the pics are nowhere to be found. My wife imported them and the pics shown in the import are all black.
Fortunately, I had two pics I had taken with my iPhone after I strung it up. Here are those, almost identical, pics. I took them in the second floor of my house which is currently undergoing renovations, thus the lack of floor molding and messed up floor.
The guitar is black walnut with a very light curl (not that you can see it because I don't have any pics of the back)
Lutz spruce top
bloodwood appointments
mitered purfling at the tail
redwood burl rosette
black walnut head stock veneer and heel cap from off cuts.

The 15 on the headstock is because this guitar was a surprise 15th wedding anniversary gift from the wife to the husband. Nice wife! Nice gift.





It sounds great and has an awesome finish. I swear. lol

Nice Tony, you have been a busy boy. The rosette is sweet. I love redwood burl, use it extensively on my knives for handles. You are up to 10 now? Dang, you really passed me up. On the bloodwood binding, any problems getting it bent? When I used it and was still bending on an iron, I had to thin it down to about .065" to get it bent without cracking it. I think the next dred I'm making the guy is going to want bloodwood on EIR.

I had no problem bending the bloodwood. I sprayed it with SuperSoft II, waited a couple of hours for it to soak in, and then bent it at 300*F. SuperSoft II is awesome stuff. I highly recommend getting some for any wood you bend, not just for the problematic stuff. This binding bent perfectly to my mold and fit the body like a glove.

Looks great! I love the book matched head stock veneer. I was reading something you posted recently and thought that I had not seen anything since the Hurricane Sandy guitar. Looks like you did have something in the works. Can't wait to see more from you.

Thanks guys. I have been busy with life and stuff, so I didn't do a build thread for this guitar, but as you can see, I did take pics...fortunately.

I am going to be starting 2 more guitars soon. A flamenco and another dread. The flamenco will be a copy of a Domingo Esteso guitar. It will have wooden tuning pegs!

Tony, you are crossing over to the Dark Side? A Flaminco will be fun to watch, so do a thread okay?
