This is the neck carving station KMG pretty much copied tools, fixtures and all. We do the prelim clean up in a station where the truss rod slot is the locator. Note that the fixture allows work on both sides without flipping the neck over -- to me this is extremely important to easily maintain symetry.

Thanks for input guys. Ken that video was great thanks for posting. Where could I find one of those handy Sanders?. I have seen them in a catalog somewhere but cant find it.
