So, i put the back on yesterday and now the box is closed.
Everything looks good and tight except the first back brace
(closest to the neck block) one one side came up short and
does not reach the notch in the kerfing.
I believe that I cut that side too short. Anyway, i would say it's
1/16th shy of the notch. Is this gonna be a major problem? Can I
take a piece of spruce and stick it in there with glue and make it
look nice? Or any other ideas would be appreciated.

It would be best if it were in the notch, but its really a non-structural issue if that is your concern.
