I hope never.. you'd be surprised how many people there are who are trying to play that don't know how to tune a guitar...it's scary!
It's like not being about to drive from point "A" to point "B" without GPS...what would you do if the Sat went down...park and die? ...sorry, didn't mean to rant...YES I DID! It's one of my pet peeves... If you are going to play one you need to at least know how to TUNE IT! :>)

YES! it is for real...and expensive AND not very accurate to boot and filled with flaws! However, it is fun to watch.
It's also a good way to keep Punk Rockers busy for hours...(Only teasin')
And all that from $1000-$3000 depending on the model! It's not your Granddad's Gibson :>)
