A BLAST last Saturday

I know, I need to post pictures. I'll see if I can get some.
My son-in-law (daughter) and grand kids from India are visiting. This grandpa had planned to have a rocket day with my two grandsons, Caleb, 7, and Micah 5.
I had 4 rockets I built and enough engines to do 21 launches. I never did this as a kid! So I was EXCITED!
One of the rockets I installed/glued the engine mount in backwards.......sounds like my guitar building, so we couldn't use that one, but the other 3 were fine. We had a BLAST! All 3 rockets had successful launches and recoveries. I took super glue and tape, and with a few repairs, we were able to make multiple launches of each rocket, and used all 21 engines.
If you guys have sons or grandsons and have never done model rocketry before, you might find this to be a really good time with them.
I only see my grandkids about once per year, so it will be a while before we do it again, but it was alot of fun. One rocket I'm sure went over 1500 ft, and another we sent up over 1000 ft 3 or 4 times.
I'll see if I can get some stills from my son-in-laws phone and put them up.
This is what I'm doing right now instead of working on my EIR dred.

Me too and ain't that the truth. My first multi-stage went up about 30' before the second stage kicked in and it made a 90* turn and headed parallel to the ground back at us from where we were launching. Went right over our heads and crashed into the campus hillside (we were in the parking lot of the local community college while it was on break) about 400 yards away. That was about 40 years ago and I'll never forget it!

Yup it just took crashing my first balsawood and lacquered tissue paper gas airplane in my first go around to go straight to rockets.
