First KMG Kit

What a difference a kit makes. Ken’s kits are excellent and the online instructions are detailed and easy to follow.

I have an alignment issue with the neck on my StewMac Dread so I’m working on the KMG “OM”.... My plan is to complete both guitars and spray the lacquer finish on both at the same time.

First I want to show the bench I built for guitar builds. No more kitchen table builds around here.

Here’s a series of photos showing the body going together.

wow, when I saw the thread was hoping someone was going to be making beginners' mistakes like me. . . until I saw the table.

Believe me, I've made plenty of beginner mistakes. That's why I pulled off the StewMac Dread build, so I could scratch my head, gather a little more experience and plan how to correct some of my mistakes.

Jack. the band saw is a 14 inch Powermatic. I have a six inch riser block but haven't installed it yet. The saw was recommended by Ken and I'm very pleased with it.

I routed and installed the back binding. I'm still trying to decide about the purfling on the front. I bought some Zip Flex Abalone Strips but I'm not sure how they will look with the wood rosette. I'll probably go ahead and use them.
