Made a lot of progress today. Got a surprise about the time I was finishing the top.......an area around the rosette with voids. I never saw them before. I had used compressed air on the guitar for the purpose of blow out dust that can hide these voids. Can't believe it. I'm not going to go back and try to fill the area. We will live with it and try to be more diligent the next time.
So top and back are done, started on one side. I will be rubbing this finish out to a satin with 0000 steel wool and I've found the finish does not need to be perfect for this, just thick enough and flat.

FP is done on the body, the neck and headstock are left. Hope to be gluing the bridge on this weekend sometime.

This guitar is done. I will be redoing the face of the headstock though. Didn't wait long enough for the FP to harden there and the clamp on tuner left quite a mark. Pretty stupid on my part. Then I slipped a piece of card stock under the strings to protect the headstock when I filed the nut slots deeper.....removed the card stock and don't know how but also left an impression . Oh well it is shellac and easily fixed. My bad for rushing it. I will fix it next week when it will sit for a few days without me around to mess it up.
I strung it with la bella 2001 medium tension strings. It sounds really good. Strong punch long sustain sweet tone.
I have the action set at 3.5 mm 6 string at 12th fret, 2.5 mm 1st string. About .040 inch clearance under the first fret, a little high but still comfortable to play. I will hope to have real player play it sometime so I can really know what it do.

Thanks guys. Herman, the only song she knows at this point is that old Chinese favorite, Two Ning! I might try to fiddle out a little ditty for you all to hear. :)
Pictures aren't too great, taken last night in low light. Will get some better pics of the guitar taken outside at a later date, after I re-FP the headstock.
