Oh no. I missed that Dave, so soooooooorrrrrry.
Yeah, I put those there to hold the back end of the top on center while gluing. The transverse braces hold it in place length wise, and across at the neck end but that back end can shift a weeee bit. I sit the rims over the top (after the transverse braces are inlet to the kerfing), get it all lined up, then glue those little pieces of spruce down on either side of the end block. This works like a charm, nice and tight with no shifting of the top.
Try it you'll like it.

I like it, but I'll use Brazilian Rosewood and HHG.

Box is closed, sides sanded level. Side to top at the neck is a flat 90 degrees. Next step is to rout the mortise, and put the tenon on the neck heel and see how the geometry looks. The box is nice. Sounds like a drum! I like the look of the Sapele.

Neck is fit to the guitar, not yet a perfect fit, there will be some adjustment to do there, bolt on mortise and tenon. Fretboard is made and located on the neck. So far all is good. Next is to bind the body and shape the heel.

Looking good Kevin. I love the side profile.
