It was only 99 here in NY city but the heat index was something like 105-110. Toasty.

I just returned from Tenn. where a record high of 105 was set earlier this week. Lots of storms and power outages here in Maryland while I was away. I was not affected with power loss. That will wait for me to be home when I can appreciate it, I'm sure.

We may hit 83 today. They have started the public service announcements, warning us to stay inside.

6:00 AM this morning checked the mini weather station on my back porch. 73F at 90% RH.
Turned on TV to get forecast- looks like I stocked up on groceries and got out the snow tires for naught; high of 93 forecast today instead of 86 as formerly predicted.
Still, 93 is a very welcome break from 100+.

We are finally enjoying some very nice mid-80s weather for the first time in a couple weeks here in Chicago. Over the 4th of July, my kids were in the parade as they are every year. at 11 am, we pulled out of the garage, and the car was reading 103. By time we got around the corner, it was 106. A mile west, it was 109. Half way to the parade queue, it was 111. By the time we parked, it was 117. My wife was saying, aw thats just cause the pavement is hot. I said we were in a parade....where did you think we were going to be walking? I think I lost 7 lbs that day, and really haven't been the same since then.
