JM - was this a KMG kit? It looks like there are added touches - like the headstock and headstock binding - custom or something like that? Beautiful

I was a woodworker back in the 70's and 80's. Custom furniture, picture framing and so forth. Then it was on to Wall Street. Twice before I started an acoustic guitar from scratch but never came close to finishing it. About 10 years ago I did a Strat copy which plays very nice, but I rarely play it. I've always like acoustic. I always said that when I retire I want to return to woodworking. Well this past August I finally retired after being on disability with a severe bout of arthritis. I've managed to get myself in decent working order with a disciplined rehabilitative program, but I know my limits. Building this guitar was perfect. I'm actually working on a second guitar that I purchased on ebay from those 2 guys who buy seconds and discards from the Martin factory. I've been watching their site for a while now, and most of the stuff they offer I don't want to touch. I saw something that was interesting though and I decided to bid on it and I got it. We'll see how that comes out, now that I have the beginnings of an education from Ken. My ultimate aim is to build a mandolin. To have taken that on as a first project, I believe would have been foolish.
