LMII has the jig sold out.
I want to give that one a try, so I bought the O 'Brien plan and I will make my own.
The drawing is not very clear to me yet, but Robbie has a YouTube vid of the build. I'll manage.
The templates from Stewmac I have will fit into it. Measuring and cutting right.
If it works for me, ok. If not, also.

I have a Simpson jig I bought off Ebay several years ago. It is similar to O'brians but more portable. I have done several mortise and tenon with it. I did one dovetail and it was tedious. Figuring out length and depth and which bit and guide collar to use. I did several trial runs and should have documented it better. It sure helps make a clean job of it with neck angle and alignment. The templates are 1/2" and may not interchange with LMI or Stewmac.

Thanks Kenny,
I have to saw and rout everything, so I will trace the Stewmac templates and rout that to the correct depth.

Routing with these SM templates works fine. The length of the tenon, I reach, by doing it not in one pass, but in several. The only fiddling things I encounter with the Stewmac jig, is the neck angle and the body clamping.
Making this O'Brien jig will make that easier. I hope.

Last week I bought all the stuff. The boards were for free (Son in law does roofing). Together it cost about 50 euro. A lot less than a LMI store bought one. Making it was not that difficult, but only buying the plan won't get you there. The YouTube video from Robbie helps out to understand the process. Definitely watch that one.
Still have to extend the pivot board, 'cause the Stewmac templates cannot slide into the desired position.

It is ready to go. Did not try it yet, but looking at what it is supposed to do, it will behave.
