That is a nice set. Better than the ones I have been seeing.

John,
When I bid, I never thought I would win. The seller sent me a message congratulating me and told me what he thought he would get for this set, and what he hoped he would get. It was significantly more than what I paid. I got lucky. Back in December, I took a shot on another set of BRW, again, my bid was a bit of a joke, and I had put the bid in several days before the auction ended. I promptly forgot I had placed the bid, never got one of those emails saying I had been outbid or anything. I then got an email telling me I won. I was shocked. Here is the set I got in that auction:
I am a sucker for sapwood which is why I bid on this set. Winning was just a huge surprise and an excellent Christmas present to myself. Plus, the seller was offering free shipping at the time, so...double bonus! It looks like I am amassing a rather nice collection of tone woods! Now I just need to convince Tim (Ben-Had) that I can indeed handle the stress of kids, wife, etc and see if he will let me keep these two sets!
I am not trying to gloat or brag here, I am just really excited about these two sets of wood and wanted to share my good fortune. Plus, I have been having a rather lousy few days, so I wanted some kind words and "attaboys" from my lutherie buddies! (That would be you guys)
Thanks,
Tony

You are lucky I have seen sellers just pull the item if the bids are not high enough.
